BIOGRAPHY

 

Diane Kent was born and raised in Illinois. She received her first formal art education at the American Academy of art in Chicago. Later, married, raising a son and working in the accounting field, she continued her art education at Grayslake College. Since moving to the Phoenix area in 1988, Kent has been pursuing an art career on a full time basis. Newer studies have included attending Glendale Community College where she completed classes in drawing and painting. Additional continuing art education was studying under nationally known artists such as Gerald Brommer, Maxine Masterfield, Pat Dews and Irving Shapiro. 

 

Kent's work has been included in numerous Arizona and national exhibitions and has received many awards, including Best of Show and Best in Watercolor. Other honors include Signature Memberships in the National Watercolor Society, NWS, Watercolor West, WW, Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, WFWS, and Arizona Watercolor Association, AWA.

She has shown and sold her paintings in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Sedona and Chandler, Arizona Many collectors in the Southwest own her original creations.

Kent enjoys teaching and is available for instruction in basic watercolor, collage and abstract design.
